HSBC closed my accounts, am I blacklisted?

Hi all,

Back in 2017 HSBC closed my bank & credit card accounts for which no reason was give (no impact on my credit rating other than account stability).

Now am I on a HSBC blacklist whereby they’ll no longer offer me products / services? As my MA has suggested them for a re-mortgage.

My affordability, credit rating are all ok but I’m concerned they’ll decline due to the reasons they closed my accounts?

Cheers

  • Only one way to find out. Hsbc do a soft search for mortgages so you'll find out if you are blacklisted without any harm

Unless HSBC are the lender of last resort for you, I suggest you dont try just in case you end up in a position where you have to truthfully say you've had a mortgage application refused.

I haven't had a mortgage refused. I'm coming to the end of my fixed rate & it's looking like HSBC have the best rate.
