Tax on Gift Aid

Reviewing my (unsubmitted) self assessment there is a line (that I have not seen before) of
Tax due on Gift Aid Payments; £4,063.00 x 20% £812.00

Where does the Gov get the figure of £4,063 from? I haven't donated that amount this tax year.

Whatever the amount why has my tax due increased by £812. Surely my charity donations should reduce my tax due

I have paid more income tax than £4063 this year - so that's not the issue.

Is there anywhere I can check my charity donation amount?

What gift aid did you declare? They'd have grossed up the amount, so implies £3250 in gift aid donations.

It's SA, so you need to work it out and declare it!

Did you declare the tax you paid on the SA form? If you didn’t then the calc assumes you paid no tax.
