hi all
I have had a dmp with cccs running since June 07. Most of the creditors have accepted or frozen some interest.
My hubby has overdraft with bank and is paying them a reduced amount, however they are charging him interest still of £15 (and also for having the account around £7.00).He is going to sort this by going to downgrade the account so some of the charges will drop. As the interest has now taken him over his overdraft they are charging £6.00 per day. Our payment to them is around £8.00 per month.
I rang the branch they said nothing we can do speak with collections dept. I rang collections dept, they said not with ourselves yet, so gave me another number to call. I rang that number the guy that answered advised that he does deal with dmp but only will speak with cccs or payplan and not with customers. I tried to call cccs but for the first time lines were busy and i could not get a response.( very unusual as i have never had that problem before).
I am so annoyed ,we will be getting charged this every day we are overdrawn and as our dmp will not bring down the overdraft while they are charging us this amount. I was advised you can not pay more to one creditor then agreed on your plan as cccs advised not to do this.
Does anyone think a letter will help to the creditor?
sorry for the ramble but i am so annoyed.
any advice given i would be very grateful.
take care all
bye for now.

Hiya Bowz - sorry, I don't really know the answer, but I'm sure if you contact the CCCS they will be able to advise you.....or perhaps someone on here will know more.....anyone?
Just a thought though - I think that usually people entering into a DMP are advised to open a basic bank account with a bank that they DON'T owe money to, for salary etc to be paid into - is he still using the one he's being charged on as his main account?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
hi snaggles
No we have both opened a new joint account with another bank. We have to keep the other accounts open because of the overdraft balance.
Thanks anyway.0 -
HI
I have had the same problem - I left my HSBC current account (with overdraft) and opened a new one. It's taken nearly8 months for them to actually transfer it to a DCA and they have charged me interest and charges all the way through. I'm hoping this will finally end now though. Very unusual for you not to get through to CCCS - try again monday?

I know it doesn't help your immediate problem, but you should try and claim those charges back from the banks. I know that court claims are stayed, but it might not even have to go that far - you could take it up with the ombudsman instead.0
