I would pay off half the money to your folks and half the CC.
Keep the rest as an Ef.
    Just my thoughts.

Thank you Purplesocks! Yes I'm leaning towards putting a chunk into my interest-earning savings account.

Thank you for the suggestion beanielou - I feel really silly for not even considering the idea of paying them part at a time! But it's a good suggestion and I might just do that. Thank you.

Another NSD for me (actually, most days are, it's a side-effect of not having a life). Lunch was leftover chili con carne with cheese and tortilla chips, and now I'm chilling with pink gin, strawberry soda and berries.

I did a little bit of housekeeping on my survey sites today, updating my demographic info and doing at least one survey from each site to keep my accounts alive, checking my balances and how close I am to cashout. A couple of sites have fared better than expected - it's good that I know which ones now, so I can concentrate on doing the ones that give better bang for buck.

I also spent many hours reading other peoples' diaries in here. For inspiration :) I have sooo many tabs open right now and am working through them all! What a lovely bunch of people we have here x

Just went looking for the exact amount I owe my parents - and it's far less, it's only £4,500!

I'm excited, this is like finding a forgotten £1,500 in the pocket of a jacket! :T

My little motor has suddenly become very, very loud. While it's a lovely growly purr, it absolutely isn't right, so I have dropped him in at the mechanic, who said he'd try to take a look today. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back today, and I have work tomorrow afternoon in a place devoid of public transport... looks like a taxi ride might be in my future.

Accountability: bought hair dye and a few other bits from the pound shop (£8, no junk at least). Also went into a couple of charity shops where I bought a t-shirt, a badly needed cardigan, and a gorgeous jumpsuit that I absolutely did not need. Oh and a few bracelets I also didn't need. So today I spent just shy of £20. I expect that tomorrow might well mean a couple of hundred pounds more, depending on what the mechanic discovers.

I also discovered a forgotten cheque from my old council tax refund (yay!) which is too old to bank (boo!) so that will need to be re-issued by the council. So I suppose I've come out even for today, and at least until I get the car bill!

I hope your week has started off well, everyone x

Hi all. Still around (reading diaries non-stop!) and trying to keep positive and draw inspiration from everyone :)

The caravan payment arrived so I'm officially in the black. Everything is paid off except for the DWP - I see no reason to clear that since they are not charging me interest, so, I will just continue with the monthly repayments to them.

I haven't repaid my parents because I haven't yet had the conversation with them about repaying it. But it still comforting to know that the funds are there if and when. For the moment I will hang onto it. They might be ok with me using it as part of a property deposit.

I have applied for a new job which is only a slight increase in pay, but will give me a bit more stability and responsibility. The present job treats me like I'm a halfwit and my hours can change at the drop of a hat. I'm not too confident of getting this new job, but I decided it was worth a shot.

So this is probably not really a DFD diary anymore but a savings one. Anyway, I will try to keep making entries to track my progress. I hope you all have a lovely week :)
