Shopping for wine in Germany
We have just come back from a nice trip to Austria and Germany.
Now, if I was going to advise people on where to shop for wine in a German supermarket, you may automatically think Lidl, Aldi or maybe Netto.
However, we grabbed 8 bottles of an amazing Italian wine for E3.99 each (around £3.56) from a Penny store.
For anyone who knows their red wine, an Italian Toscana is usually a bit more than the same brand Chianti and is made using the same grapes - Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and maybe a small amount of other local red grapes.
So, if anyone is going to Germany then bear this wine in mind - Baracca & Fassoldi Toscana Rosso 2016, an absolute bargain!
