Did you check whether or not it is possible to transfer the stakeholder into your existing Aviva pension?

It tells you in https://www.aviva.co.uk/retirement/pensions/transfer-your-pension/ to check your pension here

https://www.aviva.co.uk/retirement/pensions/transfer-your-pension/ and give them a call.

    https://www.aviva.co.uk/help-and-support/managing-your-policy/retirement/pension/

Otherwise it appears possible for you to apply on line to open a new pension and transfer in.

Must admit I’ve found Aviva pretty good to deal with: have moved 3 smaller pensions across, they were all using Origo & so Aviva just did it all.
Mine is ex Friends Life (Friends), with a company “membersite”....but dead easy to check and indeed adjust funds.
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

That's not a very nice thing to say. Maybe if you treated them with a bit of decency, they may be more inclined to help you?

Also, if you are looking to transfer in to Aviva then you need to speak to their transfer in team who will do it by Origo. If you want to use forms, then you need to call Legal & General & ask for discharge forms.
  • Hi Dosh,
I am considering moving a number of pensions into my Aviva drawdown, and I have recently withdrawn my first lump sum. I must say the staff are helpful, but not always well trained, and the website processes are complicated and not well understood by the staff.
For example, they have a couple of different investment option sites with completely different offerings and no-one in Aviva is able to explain the difference between the two ( I have asked 6 people so far).
What they need more than anything is a "Customer simplicity officer" to make their processes easy to understand for us and them.
I hope they sort things out, as they are good value and offer all the investment options I need.

Have had many dealings with Aviva over many years , including transferring pensions. Never had a problem at all.

Maybe it's the way you talk to the " poorly trained monkeys" that makes the difference. What an unpleasant thing to say.

It took a letter of complaint, several telephone calls, three emails and another two or three weeks of waiting but I have at last received the required forms by email.

It took around 5 weeks in total.

Aviva have at least agreed to give me some compensation for the time spent.
