I did wonder how long it was going to take to get to the point of what they were advertising!
Nyk, where was the 5 bed place? (I'm so nosy!).
As you will see from my sig, my financial OCD has had to go on the back burner for a short while due to spending elsewhere and not being able to raid the pot for rounding up payments. Plus I found that I would round it nicely and that would make the end payment all odd!
Still plugging away though.
Good luck with your move, are you taking the opportunity to declutter like a mad thing? I thought I had decluttered when we moved from the flat but we've been here 3.5 years and there are boxes we've never unpacked. So I obviously don't need the stuff do I?!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

nykmedia - you seem to have picked up a very interesting *cough* troll:rotfl:
Agreed - I'm just ignoring in the hope it goes away, although I'm a little concerned that it may be a teeny, weeny person with exceptional vision that they can actually SEE their bugs! Or else they have exceptionally big bugs wherever they are living! :rotfl:
Kaz, I have been trying to declutter like mad but it's a difficult thing to do when you live in 'smallsville', just not enough scope for finding buyers. I've had a little success on eBid and through G*mtree ads (which I started so I could get the cashback), I have no problems giving stuff away through freecycle but I can't believe there's nobody wants a cheap computer or an almost new tumble dryer. Maybe the freeconomy has gone beyond paying cash for anything nowadays!
About the 5 bed house that sold, I'll pm you the link, don't want too many people seeing the bargains here and sending other prices soaring when I'm downsizing so I can save quicker to buy.I've removed the percentage savings of my housefund as it's impossible to know what it actually is! I hadn't thought of that before now.
I've also set aside some moving money as we're going from part-furnished to completely unfurnished, so I need a washing machine and a cooker etc. Unfortunately, we do have enough that we'll also need to hire a man with a van.

Just found this interesting 'fixy up' - would take a bit of work, but the initial purchase could probably be done by cheque or debit card. :rotfl:
Pity it's so far north, just a little bit outside of my 'ideal location' with a little too much water to be crossed in order to access it.I reserve the right not to spend.

Just settling into the new place, preparing for the winter and not looking forward to any further drops in the interest rate! It's getting ridiculous, but house prices in our area are not coming within reach just yet. The o/o £75k one sold fairly quickly for £81,250 according to the latest updates online.
I'm eagerly awaiting the next updates to find out how much the 'plot with a roof but no access over the river' sold for, as it's now off the market.
Still saving!I reserve the right not to spend.

happy new year nyk - hope its a happy, healthy and prosperous one.
how are your targets coming along? ive just updated my sig (got bored of waiting for april when the tax year rolls around and i add my savings to my ISA). I will hit £20k at the end of the month - go me _party_
here's hoping i can find a decent fixed rate savings account to tide me over the next 9 months and that prices continue to drop :jknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
:wave:Hi Pavlov, Happy New Year! _party_
That's brilliant news about that 20k! Well done! I wish I could say the same, but, alas, it's not to be. I incurred a few extra expenses during last month's housemove, as it was from partially furnished to completely unfurnished, so had white goods to buy. I didn't really HAVE to buy them new, I could have tried freecycle or bought 2nd hand but transport is always such an issue for larger items that I decided that I really could afford to splash out on new stuff, albeit after waiting for the return of the deposit on the previous house! :rotfl: I also have a small confession to makeAfter talking myself into finally getting rid of the premium bonds, umm... I ended up putting 3k back into them 'just in case'. On the plus side:
- I haven't had to touch any of my actual savings
- I'm still setting aside £1.35 per day in lieu of not smoking
- My tax free 'interest beater' winnings/earnings are still safe in their own accounts.

normally i'd look for the exasperated smiley but interest rates are so poor at the mo you're probably no worse off :eek:i'll cross my crossables for you in hope of a win
