Newbie needing advice

Hi all
Read posts here before and finally registered to hopefully help others, however I could do with some advice. I had a DMP with CCCS since 2002 for £36k unsecured debt. Due to a remortgage I've recently paid all my creditors off - or so I thought. I contacted them all to say I was settling in full and asked for final balances, which I confirmed in writing to them. All paid in Oct o7. Now I've got Capital One saying I owe them another £153 because (I quote) "we have reversed some of our final settlement amounts and revised them". Now HFC have also claimed I owe another £283 and just say I was given the wrong settlement amount. I'm sure this isn't legal (and definitely not fair) and I intend to complain. I would like to know if anyone else has had this or has more indepth knowledge of consumer credit act? Surely if they've agreed an amount they can't change it?
Thanks

That does seem incredibly harsh and unfair but unfortunately I have no idea whether it's legal or not
But I'm someone much cleverer than me will be along in a minute to advise you - I just wanted to say hello and welcome to MSE

Hi
Did they send you letters confirming that the amounts you paid them were full and final settlements? Might it be worth ringing the CCCS up for advice on this as you were with them for a while?
Hope someone has the answers!
