Need an alternative Bank Fast.

I am considering going for an IVA and have been advised to look for a another Bank.

I have been in a Debt Management Progarmme for 3 + years and have just received a huge tax bill £60K+, and as I am earning quite good money Bankruptcy isn't really an option for me.

Before I agree to an IVA I need to consider an alternative Bank just in case my present Bank (HSBC) decide to close my account and with a dodgy credit history who are the most likely Banks to offer me a current and deposit account?

have also applied for a few Pre-Pay Mastercards for buying stuff over the Internet as I am an Internet marketing consultant and need to buy using a card. I also travel and hire cars and so not having a credit/debit card makes life awkward. these days makes one look like a criminal!!

Nat West have a basic current account you can apply for online which is easy to get. There is a Solo card but no overdraft or cheque book.

I understand the Co-Op also do one which is virtually credit check free.

What does an Internet Marketing Consultant do? I'm not being nosey, but my background is PR and Web management so I was just curious.

I can vouch for the Nat West Step account. Like keren said, there's no overdraft or cheque book, but there is a solo/maestro card, which is accepted pretty much everywhere now. The internet banking is good too
