...maybe deferring state pension is beneficial if you feel you won't be able to draw enough enough 20% pension in time to avoid the second 75 year BCE...?.
That’s a good idea if you’re confident of your longevity (not sure I am).
The downside of course is you might get less depending on how long you live.
But a useful contribution.
Good discussion but I haven’t changed my mind that stopping before LTA is going to be the best option for many.
The majority on here seem jaded with their jobs and corporate culture.
I’ve considered doing something else for less money but if you earn 3-10 times as much as basic wage, then I think most people would come to the conclusion that they’d rather carry on doing their own job for a fraction of the time, unless of course you’re lucky enough to find something you absolutely love, but that would be the exception.
I agree it’s an extremely fortunate “problem” to have (some would say hard work rather than fortune) but that doesn’t stop one wanting to make the best of it.0
