I got mine from ebuyer £310-00 well £299 if you bought through google let me have another £10er off ! I'm pleased with it didn't know the make, so was a bit wary but I'm happy with it - its a Maxdata. Check it out - anyone else got one of these ? wireless etc .....

If you don't mind a second hand model, then Ebay is excellent- got a cracking Dell one from there three years ago. A good thing about second hand laptops, as they will usually have some decent kit on them, such as Microsoft Office, which is v expensive to buy new.
Also, have a think about what you are looking for in your laptop. Somethings to consider include:
Memory size
RAM
CD/DVD player and or burner
Floppy Drive (not really necessary these days)
Wireless capability for internet access.
Screen size and resolution
Battery life/cost of replacement
And of course how much money to spend!

You still end up paying £200-250 for second hand. If you pay £300 you get a new unit, warranty and piece of mind.0
