Cost of dental bridge

What's the current cost of a dental bridge? I broke a tooth and consequently need a bridge to fill the gap. My [private] dentist has quoted me a price of over £1600, which shocked me! Is that the going rate? Apart from going abroad for the work, do I have any other choices?

It depends on how many teeth are involved in the bridge , including the missing teeth, what materials are used , will you need to have a temporary bridge for a time whilst the gum heals is the practice a high end or family dentist , etc
