Experian couldn't identify me

Options
I was looking for a new broadband package and tried Vodafone but the said no because of my credit score.I went to Credit Karma which I was registered to and had an average score there. So I went to Experian and joined and my score is low there. I thought I might join MSE Credit Club, went through all the stages and it said Experian could identify me. How so if I just joined Experian with the exact same details?
I'm retired and have a good state pension....

  • It's not because of your score, but your credit history.

If you're already accessed Experian, there is no point in checking the Credit Club as well. But check Equifax via Clearscore.

Look at what appears on your files, ignoring all of the scores.
  • Thank you..I thought the Credit Club would give me more information without taking out the 30 day option on Experian. Plus it gives insights and tips in how to improve that score. This is all new to me as I've always paid my credit card by direct debit and all bills on time. Had a broadband package with Talktalk for years and I've been with O2 for sometime now too. It's difficult to get my head around why...
  • Ignore all the insights and tips on improving the pretend score as well.
  • If I remember correctly, Credit Club asks a sequence of questions, in order to verify your identification. Maybe you gave the wrong information.

    To remedy this:
    Logon to Credit Club
    Go to account settings
    Delete the account.

You can then set up the account again, using the data held in your Experian report to verify your ID correctly.

I've been getting a failure accessing credit report from credit club the last couple of days. I wonder if there is a technical problem?

I might delete my account and set it up again.

totallymoney.com gives you free access to TransUnion
  • On a slightly different note, I would re-consider using Vodafone for broadband, they seem to be having a lot of issues lately and the support is pretty useless when things do go wrong.
  • I had this issue with experian too, the annoying thing is that there is no option to do anything. You'd made an account with a password etc and it just says they can't find anything. Incredibly Stupid in my eyes.

The funny thing is that I applied again with another email address, changed my living history as one place for x amount of years, and then it worked.

My score on experian was poor, but my score on creditkarma is average.
