Wow, give it five minutes and you'll have the shortest MFW thread ever! :rotfl:

Oh there's no way we can keep this up long term! We've just made a big flamboyant entrance, that's all :rotfl:

Slow and steady now to the finish line I think. And remember we only own half the house!

Just caught up with your journal. How exciting. Any news on the staircasing?

Hi MandM90, thanks for reading! No more news on the staircasing yet. It keeps getting bumped down my very long to-do list!

Is there any other way to make an entrance?

    What's on your to-do?

It's the only way to make an entrance!

    To-Do list -
    20+ DIY/decorating jobs.
Chase the electrician to come and change the kitchen light fitting.
Tidy up the garden so it's ready for winter.
Clear up my office because it looks like a bomb site.
Call HA about details for staircasing.
Do all prep work for next weeks work deadlines.
Take ID into old bank in town to reclaim money in dormant account.
    Chase overdue invoices.
Finish pension research to set up account.
Finish clearing out wardrobe of unwanted clothes to sell/donate.
Make a start on tax return.

And on and on and on

Maybe I'll get some sleep in there somewhere too...

Finally got around to calling the HA about staircasing aaaand the person I need to speak to is on annual leave. Typical :rotfl:

On the plus side I emptied out the change jar and got another £30 for an OP. :D

It seems like you do have quite a lot of things to do. What kind of pension research are you up to? I'm asking because pensions and investments are vast and you can suffer from analysis paralysis.

Definitely start your return now! It's so much easier when you're not time pressured and if you need help then you have time to find it!

Sorry you couldn't get through to the right guy!

It's been a while since I last posted... I have a confession to make, I've been cheating on you all with the investments and pensions forums :rotfl:

I'll be channelling more of my spare cash in that direction from now on but hope to still make OPs here when I can. Now I finally have a SIPP and ISA set up I have catching up to do on my retirement saving!

Only two little OPs this month. £36ish to round down our total to 000s once our monthly payment had gone out and another £30 today from a little lotto win on Wednesday!

Killerpeaty - I keep everything up to date throughout the year so doing my return doesn't take long at all. Been doing my own returns for years! Some people I know keep receipts stuffed into envelopes and don't even look at it until mid January
