Reclaiming from QuickQuid

Hi,

I got into a cycle of payday loans a few years ago so I put a complaint in and they came back with an offer on one of over 20 loans - I only complained about 5 loans (significant proportions of my wage and after I got a CCJ).

Has anyone had any success taking it further or do I just take what they've offered?

Thanks

MS

  • We got offered £1600 and took it as its better to go on our existing credit card debt now than to fight and wait longer.

For what it's worth, anecdotally I'm aware that QuickQuid are one of the more obtuse lenders when it comes to this sort of thing. My suggestion would be to pursue this with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Have a look at previous decisions against Casheuronet UK LLC and you'll see what I mean.

It may be stronger than anecdotally. Definitely check the FOS site.

  • Thank you to everyone - have made the complaint but woke up to the news about them closing. Not sure what that means for my complaint with the financial ombudsman.

Not sure what that means for my complaint with the financial ombudsman.

It will all come out as part of the wind-down process. Essentially all the loan agreements will be bundled up and sold at a discount to a debt buyer like Intrum. They will look for the good agreements (where debtor knew the terms), and bad agreement (misselling) and "not too sure loans".

So keep pushing so that you get your's moved to the misspelling pile. Until you are told otherwise all agreements are still legal and binding.

    D'oh. Problem with using a (mis)spelling checker.
