Very Confused Now!

Hello All
Need some more advice please.
Basically, 3 weeks ago out of the blue, i received a letter from a debt collection agency from "love film" for £145.00. I had used them last year for a 4 week free rental period and know I cancelled it etc as it was marked on the calender. Anyway, I called them asked where this debt was from and they said it was for a film they had never received back. The letter stated that I had ignored all previous letters etc-I have received nothing! I dont like owing any money and have a good credit rating etc.
Anyway, I couldnt prove that I had sent it and they couldnt prove that I hadnt-so they threatenend me with a default notice, so I agreed to pay £70 as a full and final payment, and they sent me a letter stating that if i paid the £70, them or love film would not chase me for the remaining balance-now or never! Fine, have received the receipt etc...all sorted i thought!!
This morning, I have received a DVD from love film in one of there envelopes in my name and havent re-signed up etc (i wont do this again-ever!) What do I do, who do i contact? Im disabled and very ill at the moment and just dont have the energy! I can afford to pay anymore fines etc-what should I do? Does anyone know the number/email I need to address??
Thanks

I've no idea hon. But what they are doing is very wrong. I suggest if you are well enough you take all paperwork regarding this to the CAB & see if they can help you in the right direction.
Take care

Could you just send the blasted thing back to them by recorded delivery? Then at least you would have proof of having sent it back. I know it would cost a bit more, but you wouldn't have any hassle. It just seems to me to be the quickest way of sorting it out.
Stick a note inside the package telling them you didn't order it and tell them you are going to get advice from the CAB (even if you aren't):snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0 -
Hi
Thanks for the replies!
I know it will be easy for me to send the DVD back to them by recorded delivery etc, but is this going to stop them xsaying they didnt receive it back-6 months down the line?
Why have they sent this to me out the blue?
Im confused!

If you send it back by recorded delivery you can do a track and trace on the royal mail's web site to prove that it was received. Keep both your slip and a print out of the track and trace and then stick in a drawer - just in case.
However what I would do when you send the dvd back is send a letter (keep a copy of this also!) saying that you wish to cancel your membership and that any further dvds received will be considered to be unsolicited goods and that the dvd supplier will be responsible for arranginging the collection of said items. ( I think I'm right in saying that if they do send you dvds after being told this you can keep the dvds after 6 months!)
You will find that they amazingngly manage to cancel your membership when faced with a threat like this.2014 Target;

I think this is right, too, mountainofdebt (hope it turns into a molehill soon!) So that if they have not collected them from you within 6 months of having been asked to, they become your property.:snow_grin"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow........":snow_grin0 -
If you have already cancelled your membership then the DVD you have now is unsolicited. I would write to them (recorded delivery) and tell them you have cancelled your membership, giving the date. Tell them you are sending the DVD back as a sign of goodwill but they will be responsible for collecting anything they send in future. Also tell them you are disabled and you consider this harrasment. If you hear from them again you will write to the financial mail, the Sun, the Times and complain to trading standards.

As Xbigman says, this DVD is unsolicited. I would write to them saying that if they do not collect it, at thier cost, within seven days then you'll charge them storage and administration costs of £70! See what they say to that
