**I would like to update this post and advise that MyLotus dealt with my concerns very quickly and promptly and have now resolved the issue**
Hello group, I just wanted a bit of advice if possible?
I bought a MyLotus OVulation prediction (OPK) machine last month (17th Aug). I’m having IVF and My clinic want to try a natural Frozen embryo transfer next and what I’ve read and understand Is that it involves using OPK to detect a peak in Hormones to then go and start treatment.
So I’ve used normal OPK’s before and have really struggled with the lines etc and I also have PCOS so know that using OPK can be tricky. Anyway, I came across the myLotus device and although pricey (like a lot of things in IVF) I felt like it was a good fit for my situation and also looking to build a few months of data of hormone patterns. The myLotus is a device that you insert a stick into and it gives you a number and a positive/negative sign, to help better translate the lines on the OPK.
So, anyway, I bought it for £360 (on a payment plan of £60 a month), this was on the 17th August. So I went online today to buy some more Hormone sticks for the machine and seen that they have reduced the device/kit I bought to £239. Which according to them they did this a week ago. I called and emailed to ask why such a big price reduction of £121 as I now feel I’ve paid over the odds for something that is now over a hundred pound cheaper (it’s not a sale or anything like that, it’s a simple price reduction) and the lady emailed me back and said the price reduction reflects the changes made by now no longer offering a payment plan, so I asked “have I paid £121 more to be on a payment plan?” and she hasn’t yet replied.
I know I was willing to pay the £360 but quite frankly I feel like I’ve now paid over the odds and it’s left me little peeved as I still need to buy their LH sticks as they’re the only ones compatible with the machine.
Where do I stand? Do I just have to deal with that I paid over the odds?
I feel as a company they’ve completely missed the situation that many of us are in with IVF treatment that every little counts and just because they’ve got £121 to throw away off a products price point, I don’t have that money to throw away!
If their margins allow for such a price reduction, what else are they over charging on.
Any advice is greatly appreciated - thank you
