I just had one of these from Woman and Home, had 3 similar ones from other mags a couple of weeks ago.
'Hey Julie, we miss you!
To welcome you back we have picked out a competition just for you.
We hope you like it, Good luck'
The thing is I've been logging in and entering the mag dailies every morning as usual. I haven't won anything from them for a couple of months so I'm wondering if my entries are going through.
I did email back and have just done so again but they didn't really confirm anything one way or another.

You usually get these because you're not opening the spam emails / newsletters, so that's probably why?
It's all automated, if you actually look at these email programs they use to send out these emails it tells them a load of stuff, ie ... if you've opened the email, if it bounced, which link in the email you clicked (if any) etc and then they can set it so that if you don't open 3 emails (or however many they want), it'll send you another email asking why you're not opening their emails ie the "Is this goodbye?" emails you sometimes see.
It costs them money to send the emails, a nominal amount for the amount they'll be sending, so maybe 0.4 pence or something per email, but it adds up if there's 100,000 people not reading their emails, as much as they want to keep you on their mailing list, if they're throwing away money then there's no point, so they send these emails as a last ditch effort to get you to engage.0
