Hi all
Looking for ideas on anything I can do to help lower my blood pressure. Currently taking a tablet a day but would ideally like to help this along by eating the right stuff etc.
Anyone have their own regime they would like to share please?
Thank you

No added salt/reduce salt intake - getting to below the recommended daily intake can be as effective as one hypertensive agent.
Reduce alcohol intake (as low as possible, definitely to below max. recommended), cut out smoking, cut out caffeine.
Aim to meet health targets on BMI (<25) and exercise (150mins moderate intensity exercise each week or 75 minutes high intensity exercise)
Healthy, mixed diet (portion control, calorie control, reduce carbs, reduce fat, plenty of veg)
Sleep 7+ hours per night.
Consider mindfulness/meditation.0 -

Excellent advice thank you.
How would I find out about meditation?:j0 -
Try the headspace app (first 6 lessons repeatable & free)?
Also, in so far as you are able, avoid watching the news?0 -

Thought I would start the process now though:j0 -
Have a look at your family history. I believe if it runs in your family and a chain of family members have it, chances are you may develop it also. You can very much try to avoid it by taking on board the tips that Ferry listed.
Get plenty of exercise, avoid stress if you possibly can, eat plenty of garlic (good if you are expecting vampires!) I have been taking garlic capsules (not oil) for over 10 years because I am on the Pill and that medication is known to raise blood pressure. Also eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and salads.0
