Help please

Can someone advise? I wrote to a Sainsbury’s loan company and explained I was having financial difficulties and seeking help, using the template letter, as advised on here (Thank you :) ). I also explained my wife is currently suffering from anxiety and on high medication.
They have responded helpfully and asked for a SOE to be completed. That’s fine. They have also asked for a medical form to be completed and asked for a doctor to sign to say my wife is suffering from something which is likely to effect her ability to manage money.
I can’t imagine anything worse for my wife right now than to go and ask her doctor to complete this. Is it something necessary to do or is it just to put people off going down this route.
I want to thank everyone with all their help and advice on here. It makes such a difference.
