in Credit cards
Hello all -
I posted this in the DFW forum as well, need some feedback.
I'm getting ready to do a super balance transfer to a. move an American student loan to the UK at a better rate (currently 7.14%) and b. get rid of Barclays Additions, which is costing me £30/month (at 9.9%).
A little history: being an eight-year resident but not a citizen, with no credit history in the UK, I updated all my details with Equifax, etc. and applied for and received a Barclaycard Initial (17.9%, £260 limit) in June.
I applied for and started another bank account (A&L) in August.
Three days ago I was accepted by Egg Money at great terms (7.9%, £3000 limit) so I'm on the up. I've got my mule card ready to go.
Question now is: how long should I wait until I apply for my balance-transfer card? (I'm looking at the Goldfish 3.9% offer until July 2010.)
I'm really itching to do it now, before Christmas, but I'm worried that having just applied for Egg that it's too much too soon for my credit scoring.
Cheers for your help,
BW
