Help!!! Frozen mince pies

Hi, hope someone has a magic answer to my problem
I have made my own mincemeat this year and used researcher's mince pie pastry (which is the best pastry i have ever tasted by the way - thanks researcher) and made a nice load of mince pies this year.
Anyway, i haven't baked them, i have frozen them in the tins, in the hope that when they were frozen i could lever them out somehow and store them in some freezer boxes separated by greaseproof.
I cannot get the little blighters out of the tins:mad:, i have tried leaving them out of the freezer for a little while to soften up a bit and then tried to get them out, but either way they start to break up.
It won't be a problem really to leave them in the tins and bake from frozen, but i would like my tins back as DD wants to make some fairy cakes this weekend.
Anyone have any ideas???

oooh. thats a b****r of a problem! i presume you've tried turning upside down and banging really hard? did you grease the tins first? only other thing i can think of is that you cook them and refreeze or eat them and make more. hmm. I'd love to know the solution. I put a bag in a bowl and put some stock in the bag to freeze, only the bag stuck solid to the bowl and its still in the freezer now (some 6 months later). I suppose i could try putting the bowl into boiling water, see if that losens it. Maybe hold the tin over a boiling kettle? it wouldn't take a lot, just enough to losen the layer between your pastry and the tin.
good luck with it!

I think I'd be tempted to cook them and then freeze them cooked. I'm sure you could warm them through when you defrost them later.0

I can only suggest what kethry has suggested. How annoying for you. I made a load of mince pies today, however, i always make them in cake cases so this wouldn't happen0

Thanks very much ladies for your replies.
Yes i did grease the tins first, i haven't tried turning upside down and banging and haven't tried them over the kettle.
I will try doing the above tomorrow and if i have no joy, will have to cook and then freeze.
Will let you know what happens
Thanks again :T0
