Default on my Loan

I was claiming via the insurance and I probaly left it too late to go to the doctors and get a letter. The bank promised to hold my account as I explained to them I was waiting for the letter from my doctor to send to the insurance company. The claim was successful, but I spoke to the bank and a default was added on to my file. Can it be removed? How do I fix this I am so emabarrased and upset! Thanks

What did the bank say? Did you ask them to remove the default because payment was made as a result of your insurance claim?

I did but they said I need to write a letter to the insurance company. Should I seek help from Citizens Advice Bureau?

the details are a bit light but as the bank entered the default on your file only they can remove it

so write to the bank explaining what happened and ask them to remove the default.
