Commute from Tonbridge / Paddock Wood

Hi,

I am moving to the Tunbridge Wells area (specifically Pembury) and I commute everyday into Cannon Street.

I will have to drive to the station and park and I am trying to decide which station to get my season ticket from/to.

Some people prefer to go from Tonbridge and other prefer Paddock Wood. Both stations are will be equidistant from my new house.

I wondered whether there is anyone on here that has experience of this.

I suppose the main thing is parking. I have heard of people buying a parking season ticket and not being able to find a space eg am I more likely to find a space at Paddock Wood as the station is further out of London (cheaper) and not used as much as Tunbridge?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • You're much more likely to get a seat at Paddock Wood. Tonbridge onwards gets very crowded.

Parking is also relatively easy to get, as they've added many more spaces over the last few years.

The downside is that coming home, more trains stop at Tonbridge than Paddock Wood, so you have a lot more options. Generally not a problem if you have a set routine, but can be frustrating in the event of disruption.
