Hi JacksonP - just to make note, that when we adopted a cat and her kitten, we got LOADS of cat based pressies that year and it was rather hard to use them! Your daughter may be different but personally, I liked MY cat and MY kitten, rather than cute catpostcards / diary / tshirt / etc!

If your daughter has to pay for bills associated with the kitten, can I suggest good (but a little boring pressies) - gift card for grocery/petstore to pay for food - pay ahead for annual jabs - premium bonds for her (in the cats name in case of expensive illness).

Please ask her to check her kittens eyes/ears/teeth daily even if there are not problems. That way the kitten will be used to being handled if there every is a problem!

Keep checking the felix website - they sometimes have competitions on there - my OH won a years cat food (5 cats!)!

My daughter is only 5 so I don't think she will be paying the bills just yet!!! And we already have a cat, so she is used to cats already... Thanks for the advice though, I'm trying to teach her that having a pet is a big responsibility, but really i know I'm the main owner!

By the way, thanks for the link to the Felix website, its fab! :D
