Salaries

Hello!

When they say in job ads 50k + benefits, do they include everything in the 50k like salary, taxes, NI, etc?

Thanks!

It'll be £50k gross, ie before tax and NI etc.

If they keep 5% for pension, is that included in the 50k or excluded?

Their contribution will be excluded. Yours will be deducted from that.

Calling the statutory minimum a 'benefit' is pretty common these days.

Bear in mind that some benefits are taxable e.g. company car, private fuel, private medical insurance.

I don’t think you’re going to get a £50k job without knowing the basics

    But still true :rotfl:

And be aware that many ads will show 'package up to £xx' - this could include discretionery elements of bonuses etc

ETA based on previous OPs posts my response is a waste of time :rotfl:

Trying to give advice so you make realistic choices. No-one is going to pay you £50k
