Cleaning a George Foreman Grill

Dad has started using one recently but is a little put off by the cleaning of it, not difficult but a lot more work than just lifting a foil liner from the grill pan to throw out.
Any suggestions welcome on an easy way to clean the grill
It does use a lot less electricity than the oven grill and cooks a lot quicker as well but it's the cleaning afterwards

I use a couple of pieces of damp piece of kitchen roll to wipe it down while it is still warm, cleaning it warm is so much easier. I usually switch it back on for a minute or so when I am ready to clean it. I don’t recommend dishcloths as they get into a state.

I agree, much easier to clean when warm. When finished cooking place damp kitchen roll (couple of sheets), close it to keep warm and after eating just wipe with the damp kitchen roll. Should clean easily.
It doesn't/shouldn't need any scrubbing then....0 -
Thanks guys, that is pretty much what is done at the moment and also a little vegetable oil used on the stubborn bits left when cooking the likes of liver or gammon.0

I find using one of these makes cleaning it easier (available lots of places including Amazon)
(Happy to hear that it sounds like Dad is eating better and hopefully therefore feeling better again
) Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0
