Help: advice on getting money back from divorcing sister
Comments
-
You need to decide how much effort you're prepared to put into getting your sister to pay up.
I sense she's probably repaid as much as she is willing to.0 -
She would be willing to pay the whole amount back but she has no money. From my point of view its about fairness (which maybe the law doesn't take into account). I lent them BOTH the money to help their and their family and therefore if my sister has paid me back half I should be able to get the other half from the husband. The only reason the money was lent was to buy assets for his business (which i understand is no longer).0

You can only ask him if he's willing to pay you any money. That is very unlikely given your earlier comments. You can't take him to court as you sent the money to your sister only. You need to give up on getting money from him.0
