Calculating my minutes of work?

Hi all,

Silly post here.

Can anyone assist me to how I calculate minutes when working out my gross pay ???

I worked Monday - Thursday Last week doing 8hrs:40 mins each shift.

I have calculated this at 33.6 hour.

Calculation

8.40 x 4 (for the 4 days worked)

I have to just calculate the hours at the start don’t i ?

Which would be 32 hours, not taking into account of the 40 mins each shift.

Your maths is a way off.... 40 Minutes is not 0.4 of an hours

    40 mins x 4 = 160 minutes; so 2hrs and 40 minuntes.

40 minutes is in effect. 66 of an hour, so it's 34.66 hours.

If like me, you don't get paid breaks , it can make your brain ache trying to calculate it all out :(
For instance, 5hrs 40 minutes for a 6 hour shift with 20 minutes unpaid break.

    5.66 x £rate per hour?

I think you'll find it's called simple arithmetic!
