Hi there
I've never been this route before, but am in a position where I can't see any other way. I can't get a normal loan because of my credit rating, and someone suggested a payday loan. It's to make up the difference on my rent. I'm fine to pay the high fee if that's the only way I can pay my rent.
I'm self employed, and Uncle Bucks seems to be the only one that will lend to someone who is self employed. They ask you to send in undated cheques made out to them with your card number on the back, and a photo-copy of your card front and back - as security for the loan.
They ask you to send these to a PO Box, and of course, it could be a scam. So, I wanted to just check here in case someone has had experience with them?
Thanks v much in advance.

Sounds a bit...................................... to me!
Have you been to your bank? You might be supprised they will give a temp overdraft of £500 or something?0 -
I clearly don't know anything about your situation but I would advise you to try all banks and building societies on the high steet (or well known web lenders) before going down this route.0

Noooo - never send financial info to a PO box. I'm sure there are safer loan places, APR will be staggering, although this always tends to be the norm for small short term loans.0

Hi I was in the same situation as you and I have used Pay Day Loans.
They are a really good way to get money quick (within 48 hours) and you can borrow arround 500 quid.
I have used PayDayUK.com for mine and had great success and have used them many times since. I did apply for UncleBuck before but I don't think I got accepted for some reason.0 -
You are better just going to a pawn broker on the high street. Try The Money Shop, Cash Converters, Cash Generator etc. These are all established, reputable businesses. There will be those that will slag them off for their charges, but I know that sometimes needs must.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
I've used www.samedaycash.co.uk before. Usual high fees, but they don't charge a flat fee, it's worked out on the number of days you want it for. Can be cheaper than a lot of payday merchants.Cashback Sites
Quidco - £285.07 (Since July 07)
Bank Charges
HSBC - £4210 RECLAIMED!!
Nationwide, Cahoot, Alliance and Leicester - I'm coming for ya!0 -
I advise you not to use this company - if you're gonna do this, use a local chq cashing place whom you know dont overcharge or sameday cash as twistedeagle says0
