Hairdresser disaster

So I had an appointment for a full head of foil highlights.
The stylist was 30 minutes late to the appointment which set it off to a bad start.
We had a consultation and I showed her a picture of what I wanted - she confirmed it was doable and that it was a natural look I wanted.
An hour later she had finished the foils and said she would check them in 30 minutes. 20 minutes later she checked, muttered something and then walked away. I could see her talking to another stylist with both of them glaring over at me - I felt so uncomfortable.
Another 30 minutes past and no one had been to check on my hair.
One of the stylists said to another that the girl doing my hair had gone home and asked what was being done with my hair.. they just shrugged.
The owner then came over to me and asked what colour I had wanted. By this point I was really upset and asked them to just wash it off so I could leave. She asked if I wanted her to put a toner on it and I said no.
They washed the bleach out and I left the salon with wet hair - I told them I’d come back to pay the following day.
By this point I was bordering on tears and told the owner I didn’t want to make a scene I just wanted to leave.
The colour she has done is vile. Blocky highlights that look very uneven - more like streaks than natural colour (like I asked for). My scalp was also sore afterwards which I’ve never had an issue with when having highlights previously. My hair feels horrible as well.
I really do not want to go back to that salon and I’m against paying for a hair colour where the stylist left halfway through without so much as a wave goodbye. No one apologised and no one explained what had happened - I only knew she left because overheard them say so.
What are my rights with something like this?
Like I said I don’t want to pay for such a horrible colour and experience and I don’t even want to step foot in that place to complain.

Could you bear to put "before and after" photos of your hair on your local Facebook page? Also, hopefully, you'll be able to find a "how it should" look photo to put up as well.
Put those photos up and tell what happened there and you'll have proof as to why you aren't paying hairdresser no.1 for their work (in case they come "chasing" for it). Also, you never know, a second hairdresser may well decide it would be good publicity for them to put up a post offering to put your hair right at low (or no) cost.0 -
Honestly, I think the best thing to do is go back to the salon, ask to talk to the manager and ask what happened yesterday as you had to wait over 30 minutes, your hairstylist went away and didn't give you what you want and that you left because you didn't feel that they cared? Or even call and ask to talk to the owner. They might fix it for you for free?
I think it's better to try that before you go on social media, I've seen hairdressers lie and say the person got what they asked for, that they didn't complain at the time etc, and I think it's fairer on them too if you give them the chance to fix it first. I think the owner probably was attempting to fix it but you said it was fine and left - I think they'll understand if you're unhappy about the style tbh.
My guess is probably the stylist realised she screwed up and instead of owning up to it she left. The owner probably wanted to help you but could see you were upset and wanted to leave and she also didn't want to cause a scene for your comfort. I'd give them the chance to fix it before anything else.Single woman doing it on my own... First house bought June 2021!

I had this happen to me a few years back. My highlights were just awful brassy big chunks of colour it was shocking, some parts of my hair had none in at all. This was not a young junior doing it either. What I did was paid up before leaving, got home took photos and returned for a full refund and made them correct it free of charge by the salon owner. I did have to make a bit of a fuss but it did look bizarre no way could I walk about like that. The highlight correction meant I got a general much more overall colour, not what I originally wanted but it looked considerably better.0

Why do hairdressers give you a different hair colour without asking first and then assume you will like it?0
