To be honest, I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the robo-advice, calculators or any product recommendations that come up before the human contact stage. Habito has some good human brokers but their auto recommendations aren't particularly reliable.
Imho, the quickest way to get a reliable answer would be calling up L&C and talking to a broker.DennisTenus wrote: »I found that searching on habito with variable selected.
I do have quite a bit of savings so looked at offset mortgages which don't seem to actually save that much interest, oddly. Just to see I put in 100K mortgage and 100K savings but you still pay interest??!0 -
Thanks for the advice, I have called L&C today and they are coming back to me with some suggestions.
In the meantime I was looking at some deals myself, how do I calculate whether its best to go for a product with an arrangement fee or not? I will be offsetting quite a bit of the mortgage so I'm guessing probably not in my case?
I realise it depends on lots of factors but is it usually possible to port the mortgage to another property if affordability is ok etc?0
