Help need..with bank charges

Options
Ok first of all, I have written to Nationwide and asked for statements of bank charges in last 6 years.. and total is 380pound.
What type of letter do i write back to them now? As i dont have a clue.

Also

I have written to Capital One and Iam waiting on bank statements to see how much they owe me in bank charges. I have to wait 20days from yesterday.
They have sent me a reply to my letter that i sent them asking about my bank charges..and they have said they have refunded my account with 40pound - which i think is a joke. and they have reduced my fee's from 20pound to 12pound.
What do i write to them?

If anyone can write a template letter for me I will be ever so gratefull
Thankyou in advance
Rebecca

    hey there

There are template letters on the 'reclaim £1000s' page on the banner or on the reclaim board. But here's the link to the specific one that you need for nationwide:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/c129d2ac

If they don't cough up send this one:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/redir/b17eb802

You can take the repayment of £40 off the amount that cap one owe you. Ignore the fact that the charges have ben reduced to £12 now; they are still legally suspect, what the OFT said was that any charge over £12 cannot possibly be fair. Some of the banks and card companies have interpreted that to mean that they can get away with charging £12 or less. DON'T LET THEM!

Nationwide have to provide data as far back as you requested, or if you didn't specify, for a s long as you have held the account. Send something along these lines:

    Dear Nationwide

    Account xxxxxxxxxxx

With reference to my recent subject access request under the data protection act 1988, I have so far received statements dating only to October 2006. I require that you send me all data relating to the transactions and running of my account, starting from October 2001 at the latest. Additionally, I request information regarding the rate of interest I have been charged by yourselves at all times during the period October 2001-present.

Please note that this is covered by my original subject access request, and that you had 40 days from xx/xx/xxxx to comply. You therefore have until xx/xx/xxxx to supply me with this data. If you do not, I will make a complaint to the information commissioner and persue compensation from yourselves through the civil courts.

    Yours etc.

you need to put it in writing, so you have proof that you sent it. Also it needs to be sent recorded.

The interest rate should be on each statement. If not, you need to request that. Again, it is covered by your original subject access request, just add a line to the letter I wrote you above, as the rate will have gone up and down over time.
