    Mildly more serious

Why is it actually a problem even if there is a person posting negative sides of a story or idea or technology. That just gives you oppertinity to correct them and this debate adds value

Instead of trashing my thread with your continued begging for everyone to put me on ignore , dispute the fact you yourself don't seem to have done so (but claim upteen times you have), you could just use it as an opportunity to say no that's wrong because X y z

So instead of your nonsense you could of said, that's a bit old news the industry has improved things so the degrade rate now is 5% per year (or whatever it is) and posted a link

As to the claims I should spend a day researching everything and finding what the most upto date information is before posting it. No thanks this isn't a scientific journal it's a hobbits group of about half a dozen activeish posters.

If you must know 'my motives' for posting such a thread, I read the article I thought it would be interested as it's not something I'd seen before and it interested me. I put it up and returned to whatever it was I was doing, expecting others to add some value and discussion. Instead I find you.....again.... Begging people to ignore me....again

Dispute this I've never called you a troll although that is more or less what you are doing but wrapping it up in some crusader packaging against misinformation..... right..... arbiter of all things correct

You are a wind/PV cheerleader but that's fine,
Just as it's fine to be a fossil fuel cheerleader,
    Or a nuclear cheerleader,
    Or a hydro cheerleader

If you must know, I am all of the above, I like fossil fuels I like nuclear I like offshore wind power I like PV I like hydro and I can see a use case for all of those.

The only thing I don't like is obvious propaganda, like the claims coal use costs X zillion dollars in harm.
UK is more or less coal free now in power generation where are the NHS savings I was promised??

This I think is the actual reason you dislike me
That I point out the sometimes ridiculous propaganda against !!!!!!

You remind me of this green podcast I sometimes listen to on you tube
The man is obease and he sites study after study of the huge health impacts of coal
Coal probably burnt a hundred miles away and how it's harmful to his health
Sure....it is....maybe one million as harmful as the blubber around his waste, his !!!, his legs, his chin....

Anyway as I've said to you multiple times, live long and prosper ;)

The line about 'providing balance' doesn't hold up if you're pushing pure !!!!!!!!.
My question is, given we now know the paper that was naively shared is in fact bunkum, what else has come from the same source that's also rubbish?

In real examples of wind farm degradation, copied from the news thread. We have a 20 year old wind farm that's going to generate 60% more power by reducing the number of turbines and going to a modern mid-size 4MW turbine size. It should also get higher CF as a free bonus.

Can we count this as Wind power getting better over time?

"End of life options [UK wind farms]
There are three options for wind farms that reach the end of their planning consent. First, they can be decommissioned, the infrastructure removed and the land returned to its previous condition. Another option is for the operational life of the existing turbines to be extended. This involves getting planning permission to keep the turbines in place, usually for another five to 10 years. Or the farm can be repowered, which means old turbines will be replaced by newer ones.

So far, most wind farms that have reached the 25 year limit have been repowered and given a 25-year consent for the new turbines. Or they have had the permission for the original turbines extended, allowing them to continue working for up to 10 additional years. Across Britain, 23 sites have already been repowered and at least three have extended their life, while only two have been decommissioned. Repowering sites has proved to be a great opportunity to increase the energy produced. On average repowering has increased the output of sites by 171%."
