Marcus login problem on Chrome

I opened a Marcus account in September and have never experienced any login problems using Chrome ; until yesterday when I got the following message.

Sorry, something seems to be wrong
Please come back later and try again. If you still can't get to the page you need and you’d like to talk to us, call us on 0800 085 6789.

I tried a few times but the same message appeared each time. I was able to login on Firefox, ipad and mobile phone although this required an SMS code each time.

I then went back to Chrome and disabled the IBM Trusteer extension and then was able to login without the SMS code.

There was a thread on the banking board earlier this month where a recent software update seemed to cause some sort of compatibility issues with IBM's Trusteer Rapport on Chrome, preventing access to HSBC's online banking until the Trusteer extension was disabled - the thread got a bit silly and was closed but if you pick through all the nonsense there did seem to be an underlying technical issue that may be one and the same as this one:
