I certainly wouldn’t recommend just not paying... many of these lenders have a tendency to take court action which means a CCJ for next six years and some will even apply for an Attachment of earnings, meaning your employer would become aware of your circumstances.
As long as you are keeping up with your repayments there would be no need for them to call in the whole debt, submit a complaint and see where you get although keep in mind lenders are not required to request bank statements especially in the early stages of a lending relationship.0 -
I dont think you have much re-dress with the loan company, you say that you where declined by all the other LBL companies because of your payslips - so you took the lender that didnt require them, now you want to complain.
The top up is also your doing as you are/were an addicted gambler, if the lender could ask the question and you get decline as a result, it may be a discrimination thing so no-where to go there.
As for your problem, I would get a settlement figure sent out to you and advertise the car at the market value stating that you have finance and the buyer will pay the lender over the phone. Some folk will be put off by it but if its cheap enough there may be a buyer out there that will. Although selling the car without a V5 and spare key would see a lot of private people off, but a trader may be able to see a profit in it.
What is the realistic market value and actual settlement figure?0 -
