Please help! ...dilema with christmas

hi sorry if this isnt the right place to ask but i know ppl give good advice (mostly) here and im desperate :0(

im in a real dimena with what to do over xmas period . i live in england with my boyfriend of 5yrs, my parents live in scotland. for the last 2 yrs we have spent xmas round at my boyfriends dad's and new partners house, it was ok.

my boyfriend and his dad lost contact and werent talking for months and my boyf thought we could go to my parents for xmas for a change but now theyre talking he said maybe he should go round to his. but i know i will not be going round there, ive already spent 2 xmas's there, i want to go home. it would b nice if my boyfriend could come to my parents.

i said well i could go home to my parents and you go to your dads and new partners but id be a bit lonely there in scotland as id rather have him there. my mum and dad r in their 50/60's, it would just be the three of us, its very quiet there.

trouble is he's started a new job and may have2 work xmas eve/boxing day so i dont think he could come back with me at that time.

its stressing me out as i know if i leave it too late the fares will rocket! i have days to use up from work, so i could go home anytime from the 12th december, and my boyf will be working so id be by myself during the days if i was down here.

i dont know whether to go on the 12th dec or later and come back for boxing day (that might be too long) my mum and dad would have to work aswell. so either way im gonna be by myself some of the time :0(

my mum and dad like 2 stay at home @xmas so wouldnt go anywhere else. id like to see my mum and dad on xmas day but also my boyfriend

i dont know what days to go? everythings so up in the air!

please help??

Scream and tell them all they have to come to you! What an awkward situation. If bf can't get time off then he is stuck here so no matter how lonely you'll be without him up in Scotland it may be the only option other than to stay down here with him and visit his parents. Why won't your parents come down? Surely they can be a little flexible if they have the time and then everyone can see each other and most importantly they can see you. Do you have siblings still in Scotland? It sounds like, and I could be way wrong, that noone is paying particular attention to what you want here.
Get yourself off to a spa and get pampered from christmas eve to boxing day ;-)

  • Go to your parents for a week so maybe travel up on the 20th/21st and come back a week later that way you get to spend Christmas with your parents and still have some holiday time on your own before. As for the bf he could join you up there if he manages to get chrismas eve/boxing day off ( I'm sure he will get at least one of them or maybe he could suggest working christmas eve but having boxing day off) He could then join you and your parents late Christmas Eve (depending on travel arrangements etc)
