Finding a past mortgage provider

Between 1989 and 1999, I owned a house. Although I have the address of the property, I can find no record of who I had the mortgage through. I have no old bank statements or letters from the mortgage provider. Can anyone advise how I can find this information as I want to use this information in a PPI enquiry? Thanks

Land registry might help but in all honesty you are probably wasting your time.0
