Well if you were honest in the first place, we might be able to advise better. Banks don't put on a load of charges "for no reason".
  • Ive had two charges 1 after the other two days in a row.. no notification of the charges were going to be placed on my account and to be honest for no reason I had the money in the account. They are saying it is not the banks error which I no it is... Whats got me is the fact that for what i know they are the only bank which place a charge for £38 on the same day the charge is incurred therefore getting as much money out of you as possible as it means that everything else bounces if they have taken the money.. let me know if you need to know anything else...

I don't think she was being dishonest Conor - surely there would have been a much nicer way to help out...?

Conor did you get out the wrong side of bed today or are you not well, that's the second unhelpful comment you have made that I have read.
    (((((((hugs)))))))) Hope you are ok.

    Loopy try the

    Co-op Cashminder account

    Good points -
    • Comes with a Visa Electron card, which can be used online, high street shops, for bill payments & at Link machines.
    • You can also set up direct debits on the account, & it has internet banking.
    • You can pay money into it at the Post Office, as well as at Co-op branches.
    Bad points -
    • Can take anything from 1-4 weeks to set the account up, depending on the amount of applications they've got.
    • They don't seem to have publicised it, but they seem to operate a "3 strikes & you're out" rule (see this post), so you have to be prepared to keep a close eye on your account otherwise you might lose it.
    • The internet banking isn't always up-to-date at the close of business, so your online balance may not be a true reflection of what's actually in the account.
    • Not all branches are open on weekends.
    • There aren't many branches.
