I think any of the methods would work for basic things like underwear or socks or leggings.
My DH though does the same (wears the just cleaned stuff first) with his tee shirts, all colours and many of which have patterns. So not only does he wear a few tee shirts to death but I have to see him in the same ones constantly. He tells me they're his favourites but I think it's laziness. He's probably forgotten what's at the bottom of the drawer.:D
I've done a Marie Kondo on my own tops so they're folded and stored vertically in the drawer so I can see them all at once before choosing.
Your post made me smile maman. You make a very good additional point though. For anything with a pattern or design, you don't really want to end up being seen in the same top all the time, whether it's at the gym or in front of your partner. You'd end up looking like Charlie Brown.0 -
hmm, I wear scrubs to work. They live forever and the cotton gets softer as they get older. I've got roughly five years left to work and don't really want to buy many more. So, I've pretty much reduced the trousers to shades of blue (and a few white pairs). The tops are mainly white or blue. There are a couple of prints for days for when I feel wild, lol. But again they are patterns that work with the trousers.
Socks are picked by the colour/shade of the trousers.
I have more panties than I know what to do with. Cotton for work and pretty ones for the weekends. I am one of those people who will wear things till they fall apart. But really when you can see through the cotton, it's probably time to say goodbye.Formerly Known as WonderCollie0 -
I am a take from the not put away pile person. MrsM decided to sort through my pants drawer the other week, she had a good rummage and I am now sporting almost new C&A ones !!0

That's brilliant molerat! Considering that C&A withdrew from Britain around the turn of the century, your pants are truely vintage!
My classic mistake is to avoid wearing something because I'm not keen on it, so swerve it whenever it's seen in a drawer or wardrobe. In the context of season, I think I need to force myself to wear everything once and If I continue to resist, then accept that I need to get rid of it.0
