Inherited pension advice

That's probably the irrelevant "period life expectancy at birth". ONS observes that "The cohort life expectancy for men born in the UK in 2017 is 89.5 years and for women it is 92.1 years. This means that on average we would expect someone born in 2017 to live to those ages.". And that's also irrelevant because the population life expectancy that matters is cohort life expectancy for those who are 80 now. Which is 90 for a woman and 89 for a man.campbell19925 wrote: »You are wrong. Average female life expectancy is dependent upon your postcode but nowhere near 90. It ranges from about 80-82.
Those are for the whole population of 80 year olds and don't take into account the individual's health and lifestyle.
Using the wrong life expectancy measure is a common reason for underestimating how long pensions need to last.0
