Significant milestone for Uskmouth Power Station
Tim Cornelius, CEO of SIMEC Atlantis Energy, commented:
“The successful completion of the fuel combustion testing is a major milestone for this flagship conversion project and represents a very important step in the program towards achieving financial close.
This project is the world’s first example of a coal-fired power station being repurposed to run on 100% waste derived fuel pellets and the results of this test will potentially have material implications for the way plastic waste, and aging coal fired power stations, is managed globally in the future.”

I dont believe in coincidences and as we discussed before I saw similarities with the NI project near me. When this update came through from Abundance I had also noticed an increase in news coverage and PR about the NI project. Seems that although the project here has been overruled, it is being reconsidered and the PR spin is up again.
With all the infrastructure investment coming up I would expect it to be given the go ahead although with the caveat that it actually connects to the grid and at least tries to make some attempt at being green rather than a decrease in landfill tax (and associated property/maintenance/legacy costs).
Its definitely worth following both.

Its definitely worth following both.By coincidence the six month term for their loan repayments was yesterday. To their credit they duly coughed up the 4% offered at the outset.Ooops! An unfortunate choice of phrase perhaps.East coast, lat 51.97. 8.26kw SSE, 23° pitch + 0.59kw WSW vertical. Nissan Leaf plus Zappi charger and 2 x ASHP's. When I look at some of the antics the environmental and green alarmist brigades come up with, I end up face palming 24/7.
We are running out of landfill, the recycling industry has enough DelBoys to provide storylines for a dozen tv channels and we have a simple technological way of disposing of our rubbish with a useful byproduct .......heat and energy. The technology is there to scrub the gases clean, glass and metal can be recycled and biodegradable waste can be turned into compost. Added to that we would only need one plastic waste bin to put all our waste in, what's not to like?
So what does the Greta Thunberg fan club do.......shouts "how dare you be sensible.........let us have countless plastic bins to put our rubbish in, let us have countless different refuse trucks to drive round to collect it all"
Just imagine, a world with one easily understandable, simple, useful method to dispose of waste. It might even get me expelled from Extinction Rebellion, but I am prepared for my martyrdom..._

Well Ive just bailed on Abundance. Waited for the June payments across the board then sold the lot. Happy to lock in the previous profits as well as some future ones (some people paid almost as much as projected bonuses - madness) and as I mentioned earlier, its the return of the money, not the return on the money.
Why now? well plenty of covidbucks looking homes and best time to sell after a large tranche of payments when people have spare in their IFISA to sell and in between new issues.

Doesn't it just leave a warm feeling when your money has been put into supporting a good cause and also show a return into the bargain. A win,win in my book.Having interest in a variety of different projects, both in timescale and anticipated returns, I'm happy to let mine run full term. One will not close until I'm pushing 90, but hey, it gives me something to hang on for! The remainder, anything between two and five years.I'm fortunate that they all appear to be functioning as projected but I know that can very easily change. Before investing in Renewals I'd come to the conclusion that I'd rather invest in sustainable projects and take a hit, than take a profit from doing harm. That is still very much the case and I don't believe I'm alone on that front.East coast, lat 51.97. 8.26kw SSE, 23° pitch + 0.59kw WSW vertical. Nissan Leaf plus Zappi charger and 2 x ASHP's. Agreed. For me, at least, with the current climate that sustainability isnt in funding house builders, people who cant get covidbucks elsewhere or councils that have no regard for other peoples money. Right here, right now the most sustainable investments for me are in people and people locally. Ive made local investments that will probably not see profitability in my lifetime (if ever) in monetary terms but in social capital terms it will be hugely profitable.
To quote an american term which will probably be bleeped out, its time to !!!!!! or get off the pot.
