Possible text message scam

I have just received a text message from number 46153 claiming to be a delivery update for my parcel, when you click the link it does look very much like the Royal Mail tracking website and claims that my parcel is being held in Croyden due to a £1 underpayment of postage, it then gives a link to click to pay the charge. (I did not click that link!)
Further investigation of the site raised further suspicions as what ever link you click goes to the same page.
I do have a parcel on the way, but I don't trust this message at all, so just a heads up in case anyone else gets it!

100% scam, enter any random tracking number and it says the package is Croydon and £1 needs to be paid.0

its false. RM dont send out such massages.
nor do they charge £1 surcharge.0 -
The fact they only want £1 lets you know it's not RM. If it was genuine they would definitely add a handling fee and you would be lucky to get change out of a tenner!0

Just ask yourself how Royal Mail would know your mobile phone number .....0

I have had confirmation texts from them before, probably get the number from the supplier but they always come as Royal Mail.
Just want to make people aware so no one gets conned!

Yes I also get lots of texts from RM about deliveries that I don’t expect. I’ve never given them my number so it must have been passed over as part of the order fulfillment process by the company I’ve bought from.0
