Do you have a local family run aquarium shop near you?
We got far better service from our local shop than the 'big' guys, a bigger discount as well as extra things thrown in too!
When we went back to purchase the fish when the tank was ready we got a few extras then too.

We do have a pet store about 2 miles from us and we have bought lots from there and we always get a discount but they dont do the tanks we want or get hold of them

I will look around at other small pet shops even if we have to travel a bit further

    Thanks for replying

Have you tried Pets at Home. We were in our local branch the other week and they had a few shop models reduced, you might be able to get a cheaper one that way.

what area are you in ? I know we have found shops which we didnt even know existed via word of mouth.
