direct debit refunds for change of payment date

Quick question I am aware that if a direct debit is taken out before the date it should you are eligible for a refund via your bank with the direct debit guarantee unless the company gives you two days notice of the change.

However,if they take it out after the agreed date and not on the actual date without the notice are you eligible for the refund?I know if the date falls on a weekend or bank holiday they are allowed to take it out on the actual agreed date but what about in general or the second day after the holiday or weekend.
