How to be more active working a 9-5 desk job

Hey Poppy - glad to see you're still here! I have a similar situation to you with working in a tony office albeit sightly better off as at least our toilet & kitchen is downstairs. I do have to make a conscious effort to get to 250 steps during an hour though. Small things in the office - walking to the photocopier/ walking to the loo/walking to the sink to fill up my water bottle (generally done on a separate trip to the loo visit!) - if I have things to print I'll do them separately to add additional walks to the printer to collect them - that's literally just 20 steps total but it does all add up to more "movement" generally.

When I first started trying to be more active I was where you said with 2 - 3,000 steps daily - I made an effort to get to work slightly earlier - just 15 minutes - so I could get a brisk 1 mile walk in before work, and then added the same again at lunchtime - the mental health benefit of a bit of fresh air at lunchtime can be huge - and at this time of year there's the added daylight aspect as well of course! Now I also run after work a couple of times a week, and try to get to the gym a couple of times as well, plus any other activity I do at weekends etc.
