Work pension, SIPP, S&S ISA...that is all (and not necessarily in that order).

Depends on ones personal objectives and commitments. Life also has a habit of throwing in some curved balls along the way. A broad approach is therefore perhaps best. With a spread of savings and investments. Might not produce the best the return. However more likely to be cost effective.

Not BTL. I have just sold up after 15 years. Did OK but it can be hassle and the taxman takes a chunk. Paid off mortgage with proceeds. Nice feeling :)

    I have:

    Boot Final Salary
    NHS Pension

Will be getting a SIPP soon to reduce CGT bill (moved into 28% CGT Bracket).

That's not investing. It is gambling.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether investing in cryptocurrencies is gambling or investing. I'm not sure that buying a cryptocurrency is gambling, because the currency could have an inherent value; in the way that a lottery ticket does not.

A cryptocurrency has inherent value if it is secure. Even so I still wouldn't invest. It would only take proof that a certain currency was not secure for its entire value to be lost, whereas the price of gold/silver/etc would fall over time but not crash to zero
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Best investments for us (hindsight is a wonderful thing):

    - Property in which you live. A double benefit as it increases in price over the long-term and the pleasure of use persists during property crashes/soft markets
    - Additional pension contributions - as much as you can afford. Well worth sacrificing an extra holiday each year.
    - ISAs.

Also, OH invested heavily in education in order to give his daughters the best start in life he could afford. That punt has paid off in spades.

    Sipp?

Just curious as to what’s popular, I understand the pc answer of whatever is best for each individual or a combo of all 3 etc ;)

    The kids!

I say “invest”.....perhaps more of a reckless gamble, but as DQ has already seen, I’m hoping it will pay off later in life :rotfl:
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

In decreasing amounts: overpaid offset mortgage. FSAVC. Company DC pension and try to max S&S ISA.......oh and being as tight as a gnat's chuff helps.
Seemed to work as I gave up the job last year....

A good point and one that would apply to all currencies. However, apart from the fact that currencies in general are not investments, the issues you have with cryptocurrencies is a lack of regulation (improving maybe but very much in its infancy and with limited assurances) and the ease with which you can loose your 'investment' to the criminal fraternity through theft, scams and similar.
  • Land

If you buy the right piece it'll increase in value and hopefully be developed and whilst you are waiting for that rent it out to equestrians or other uses

There is also a finite amount of it. For homes you can build upwards but there's no stretching out of land.

For now it is Company Pension plus LISA, all invested in diversified global equities.
