Buy a new oven and remember to clean it after use! OR there are companies that come to your house and will clean your oven professionally for about £50ish depending.... then remember to clean it after use!

Just read the OP’s post properly and I’d go for latter option as anyone that leaves an oven tray in that condition must be a minger so I’d want the ENTIRE oven cleaned just to be on the safe side.
  • Try filling the tray with cola (I think the cheap stuff will work just as well as branded cola), and simmer it for a while. Apparently the acids in cola are excellent for removing baked on food from pans etc. (which makes you wonder what it must do to your insides when you drink it!)

I've recently discovered heavy duty stainless steel scouring pads. They aren't as scratchy as wire wool pads and make a great job of oven doors, pyrex dishes etc. Available at Wilkinsons, supermarkets etc and about £2 for a pack of four very MSE :)
I know, what took me so long? ;)

We had a freecycled oven which was really caked on all over the inside.
I got the steamer out and soaked everything in just soapy water in bin bags then steamed everything that could be removed from the actual cooker within an inch of its life. all this done in the garden before I would let hubby put it in the oven housing in the kitchen.
