  • Congrats OP fort finally listening to what you were told all that time ago.
Going to stop ranting on every DB transfer thread now?

    Depends, atush.

coyris said the other day - The irony of this multi-week discussion is that everybody agrees that you shouldn't use Hargreaves Lansdown for advice on a DB transfer.

Excellent news. But if someone still wants to argue that one should use Hargreaves Lansdown for advice on a DB transfer, happy to engage.

I never heard anyone say that.
  • In fact gemma888 was advised to contact HL with her DB pension on July28,

"they are very easy to listen to and helpful with people who don't understand how things work."

Nobody on the forum demurred, surprisingly, given the output of some.

I would have, had i read it. They arent really IFAs. I send people there to get a Sipp, never to get advice.

    But i digress.

At least you have what you wanted. So maybe things will settle down now.

Has s/he anything whatsoever to contribute other than the same-old, same-old HL DB transfer rant?

    I can't find a 'bored' emoticon.

I believe the thread has had a useful practical outcome. If, gemma888, or anyone else, had been seduced to take advice from Hargreaves Lansdown, there is now a clearly identified path whereby she can proceed.

But, more importantly there seems to be unanimity: Don't use Hargreaves Lansdown for DB pension advice.

    Everybody's happy.

To quote from a forum regular's spectacular miscalculation at #9 on this thread..."End of."

From a very simplistic and purely cost perspective the combination of HL review with AJ Bell transfer sounds ideal, and exactly what you were looking for. Thanks HL ;)
