Well done for telling OH. It can be so scary, but it is better to tell him now. It takes real pluck :T

As DFW's resident jobcentre staffer / whipping girl I apologise that they haven't got their finger out. You are right about the work you are allowed to do, but you can still get into trouble if you start work before you tell JCP on the form, even if they take an age to get the form to you (I know, the system sucks). If you don't get it in the next week or so tell me and I will see if I can get one sent out.

Then, as you have said, you should be okay. This IS a manageable situation, even if it doesn't always feel that way.

Thank you so much, your post has really meant a lot to me tonight when I've just been hating myself so much. I just feel really ashemd because of the stupid way i've got into debt - cashing money gambling!! It's idotic, and i KNEW that but carried on hoping and burying my head in the sand.

I've been waiting for the form for over a week (PW1 ) and this was after speaking to 4 different people! I knew which form to request as it has it in my booklet, but everyone I spoke to DIDN'T know what it was! I will let you know if it hasn't come by Monday.

I also told my Mum tonight - LOL she thought I was pregnant, hence my tears and hysteria! She was wonderful and immediatly has arranged to take £3000 of the debt temporarily, until I get married. I did NOT ask her to, and actually burst into worse tears when she offered btu she said she's very happy to do it. She's transfering it onto one of her credit card accounts so she's not paying interest on it, and will just pay the minimum until I can afford to take it on.

Also i've realised I have a Lloyds TSB credit card I haven't used for some years. I remembered they phoned me up trying to tempt me with various offers and rates, i didn't accept at the time. But I think tomorrow I will call them up and see what rate they will offer me for a balance transfer. Hopefully they will offer me something below 10% which will halve the interest I'm paying now.

So basically I should be fine and on top of it, I am just left with still feeling really horrible about myself as I've always been the good sensible girl and I just feel so abd to have done somethgin wrong in my life. I've fallen off my own pedestal.

If you listen carefully you will hear the thuds all around you as other people fall off their pedestals. I have fallen off mine so often I now carry extra padding.
Anyway there is no such thing in life as a person who has never made a mistake so welcome to the human being club hun.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Had a quick look at their vacancies section, but they don't seem to be looking for staff in my area right now. May look again at this another time.
